Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support. It is designed to support the USB Audio 2. The driver is a WaveRT audio port class miniport. For more information about the USB Audio 2. The driver is named: usbaudio2.

This name will be overwritten with a USB Product string, if it is available. The driver is automatically enabled when a compatible device is attached to the system. However, if a third-party driver exists on the system or Windows Update, that driver will be installed and override the class driver. The driver supports the formats listed below.

An alternate setting which specifies another format defined in FMT-2, or an unknown format, will be ignored. The driver supports one single clock source only. For the asynchronous OUT case the driver supports explicit feedback only. A feedback endpoint must be implemented in the respective alternate setting of the AS interface.

The driver does not support implicit feedback. For the Adaptive IN case the driver does not support a feedforward endpoint. If such an endpoint is present in the alternate setting, it will be ignored. The size of isochronous packets created by the device must be within the limits specified in FMT A function with an audio control interface but no streaming interface is not supported.

The driver supports all descriptor types defined in ADC-2, section 4. The following subsections provide comments on some specific descriptor types. An AS interface descriptor must start with alternate setting zero with no endpoint no bandwidth consumption and further alternate settings must be specified in ascending order in compatible USB Audio 2.

Each non-zero alternate setting must specify an isochronous data endpoint, and optionally a feedback endpoint. A non-zero alternate setting without any endpoint is not supported. The bTerminalLink field must refer to a Terminal Entity in the topology and its value must be identical in all alternate settings of an AS interface. For Type I formats, exactly one bit must be set to one in the bmFormats field of the AS interface descriptor.

Otherwise, the format will be ignored by the driver. To save bus bandwidth, one AS interface can implement multiple alternate settings with the same format in terms of bNrChannels and AS Format Type Descriptor but different wMaxPacketSize values in the isochronous data endpoint descriptor.

For a given sample rate, the driver selects the alternate setting with the smallest wMaxPacketSize that can fulfill the data rate requirements. The driver supports a subset of the control requests defined in ADC-2, section 5. The following table shows the subset that is implemented in the driver. Each subrange describes a discrete frequency, or a frequency range. Individual subranges must not overlap. If a subrange overlaps a previous one, it will be ignored by the driver.

The USB Audio 2. The driver supports one single volume range only. If a feature unit implements single channel controls as well as a master control for Mute or Volume, then the driver uses the single channel controls and ignores the master control. There is not any specific partner customization that is associated with the in-box USB Audio 2. This INF file entry provided in a update to Windows Release , is used to identify that the in-box driver is a generic device driver.

USB Audio 2. An arbitrary number of channels greater than eight are not supported in shared mode due to a limitation of the Windows audio stack. The example is for a non-composite device with single feature descriptor. If the driver does not start, the system event log should be checked. The driver logs events which indicate the reason for the failure. Similarly, audio logs can be manually collected following the steps described in this blog entry.

If the failure may indicate a driver problem, please report it using the Feedback Hub described below, and include the logs. For information on how to read logs for the USB Audio 2. If you run into a problem with this driver, collect audio logs and then follow steps outlined in this blog entry to bring it to our attention via the Feedback Hub. Audio Drivers Overview. Also, a lot of driver files are HUGE. It may take a long time to download them to your PC. Most will not support bit systems; one or two may support Vista bit.

Disadvantage: Windows bit systems require bit drivers. If the update tool does not support your bit system, the update tool is useless. Plus, we apply a hour guaranteed response time for all correspondence! Poor customer service. Disadvantage: Your questions and concerns fall on deaf ears. AC97 Drivers. Audio Drivers. We employ a team from around the world which adds hundreds of new drivers to our site every day. Device drivers allow the hardware device USB Flash Drive to communicate clearly with your operating system. Hi-Speed USB 2.

Drivers of computer hardware fail without any apparent reason. There is hope for USB Flash Drive users because they can usually solve the problem by updating their device drivers.

It is your responsibility to trigger the remote wake signal on all device state changes. For examples, see Input. This driver can wake the system and turn on the screen.

This driver can selectively suspend a root or external hub when no devices are attached to it or when all devices that are attached to that hub can be selectively suspended. This driver can selectively suspend D3 storage devices on systems that support Windows 8 Connected Standby, when those systems go into Connected Standby. Like HID, there is a registry override to enable selective suspend on all Windows 8 systems.

This driver can selectively suspend D3 a USB audio device on Windows 7 and later operating systems when the computer is on battery power. This driver can selectively suspend D3 composite devices when all children are in suspend.

On systems that support D3-Cold, all children must opt into D3-Cold. This driver can selectively suspend D2 Smart Card interface devices by default in Windows 7 and later operating systems. This driver can selectively suspend D3 devices by default on Windows Vista and later operating systems.

This driver can selectively suspend devices. When there is an active subscription, the device enters D2, without an active subscription, the device enters D3. Verify that the latest BIOS is installed on the computer.

Many times the PC cuts power to an add-in card when the PC is in a lower power state. If the add-in card has no power, it will not be able to detect a wake event, and will not be able to wake the PC. To install drivers:. Follow the procedure that was described in the answer to the first question to verify that your computer has USB 2. On the General tab of the Properties dialog box, select Reinstall Driver.

Continue with the wizard, accepting all default options, until you reach the last page of the wizard, and then select Finish. You might be required to restart your computer to finish the installation. Note To ensure that you have the latest updates installed on your machine, visit Windows Update regularly.

To obtain the fastest performance from the device, users must select the notice and follow the instructions on the screen. A USB 2. On Windows XP and later, Usbhub. For additional details about TT layout, see sections The USB device descriptor’s iSerialNumber field indicates whether the device has a serial number and where the number is stored, as follows:. If the device has a serial number, the serial number must uniquely identify each instance of the same device.

For example, if two device descriptors have identical values for the i dVendor , idProduct , and bcdDevice fields, the iSerialNumber field must be different, to distinguish one device from the other.

Plug and Play requires that every byte in a USB serial number be valid. If a single byte is invalid, Windows discards the serial number and treats the device as if it had no serial number.

The following byte values are not valid for USB serial numbers:. For additional details on the iSerialNumber value, see section 9. A USB device indicates the presence of a serial number by setting the iSerialNumber field of the USB device descriptor to the serial number’s string index. Windows treats USB devices that have more than one interface on the first configuration as composite devices.

For Windows XP Service Pack 2 and later versions of Windows, interface numbers are only required to be increasing, not consecutive. For additional information on alternate settings, see Section 9. Although it might still be possible to load Usbhub. You should use Usbccgp. To ensure that you load the correct driver for your composite device, use the Include and Needs directives in your INF files, as follows:.

The major restrictions imposed on hardware devices and drivers by Usbccgp. This feature is supported only in Windows Vista and later versions of Windows. For these versions of Windows, the composite device is put into Selective Suspend only if each child function of the device has a pending Idle IRP. The USB 2. IAD can be used to identify two or more consecutive interfaces and alternate settings within one function.

The following operating systems have support for IAD:. A composite USB device – also referred to as a multifunction USB device – exposes multiple functions, each of which can be treated as an independent device. The system loads the USB generic parent driver, Usbccgp.
